AXIS MUNDI

In "Axis Mundi," I wanted to represent the concept of polarity, one of the basic principles that govern the Universe. Polarity is within each of us, in our emotions such as love and hate, in our strength as well as in our weakness. It is present in everyday life, in the alternation of day and night, and in nature—imagine the waves of the sea, a wave rising to its peak strength only to crash down, in a cyclical and eternal dance.

These extreme differences in degree encapsulate the same matrix of energy. It is an alchemical concept that, in its simplicity, hides a dynamism that tends to expand infinitely. It is important for humans to ask questions and understand that they are not separate entities but part of the Whole. Even if we are not aware of these universal laws, humans create connections and consequently generate energies among themselves.

In the lower part of the work, I wanted to represent time. Despite its rhythm, time is relative because its perception is extremely subjective, tied to our conscious mind. In the upper part, I represented divine energy expanding in a cyclical pattern.

At the central point, a rope is depicted breaking, which, despite its precariousness, will never truly break because it is the only path that allows us to savor, even for a fraction of a second, the beauty of creation.

This is my humble interpretation of the "Axis Mundi."
